Renco also sells ports and accessories made from materials such as polyethylene, stainless steel, aluminum, and silicone. To determine the appropriate material needed for a certain application, please consult a chemical/permeation resistance guide. These guides are distributed by polymer manufacturing companies, universities, and industry associations, and are easily available on the Internet. They often give qualitative recommendations, e.g. excellent, recommended, not recommended, no data available, and/or a breakthrough time, which is defined as the time for the first measurable amount of a liquid chemical or solvent to permeate the glove. The user of the products is responsible for validation, testing, and approval of the products.
